The celebrated trio B2C Entertainment has spoken out amid ongoing criticism surrounding government support to artists, particularly claims that such funds could have been used to build hospitals and improve public infrastructure.
Responding to the backlash, the group dismissed the narrative as unfair and deliberately aimed at putting musicians in a difficult position. They argued that corruption and misuse of funds happen openly in many sectors, yet artists are being singled out.
“Everyone became a thief in this country, so if artists get some support, let them eat.”
They emphasized that musicians should not be expected to struggle or “sleep hungry” simply to uphold moral expectations that aren’t equally applied across the board.
B2C also downplayed the scale of the support artists receive, describing it as insignificant compared to broader government spending. According to them, the funds given to creatives are merely “pennies” when weighed against the annual expenditures of State House.
“Stop putting artists in a tight spot that shouldn’t even exist.”
They further noted that State House reportedly spends trillions annually, suggesting that the focus on artists is misplaced and distracts from larger financial issues.
