A song of praise and thanksgiving, Ani, is a kind of song that makes sense of the “God Almighty” title. It is a song that seeks to show to the world that God’s strength and abilities is beyond human comparison. He holds the universe in space. He never sleeps with his eyes moving across the world looking for people seeking his presence.
We may have contrasting needs, He alone knows how to partition and give us at the time we need it the most. He listens to the sincere hearts, comforts the troubled souls and best of all, he does not view with judgmental eyes but rather forgivingly listens to our cries.
Pastor Wilson applied humour and satire to deliver the point home. “Who can sit on the throne of the Almighty?”
When a farmer cries out for rain, a bride prays for the warmth of the sun on her wedding day! A teenager wishes she loses her pregnancy while a childless aging woman cries out day and night for the Lord to bless her womb. FDC cries out for “justice” while NRM sings praises of dominance. Such is the folly of life. Like flowers, we bud, open succulent fleshy petals.
Count on God that whatever buds in you will bear fruit. Praise the Lord!
