Azam Uganda Premier League (AUPL) debutants, The Saints Football club have sacked their head coach Harunah Kebba who also doubles as the coach for the Uganda National Beach soccer team, ‘The Sand Cranes’.
In an official statement released by the club, Kebba has been relieved of his duties at the club after a spell of poor results that have put the club in the relegation zone after their first five games of the season.
“The Saints Football Club would like to announce that Head Coach Mr. Haruna Kebba, Assistant Coach Mark Twinamatsiko and Club CEO Ahmed Kongola have left the club,” Club Chairman Johnson Musinguzi revealed at a meeting held at the Club Office at Namboole Stadium this morning.
Musinguzi said that the trio’s sacking has been done for the good of the club and wish them best of luck wherever they may land.
“The results over the last several games have not been good enough, we have to take the decisions now for the good of The Saints,” reads Musinguzi’s statement on the club’s official Facebook page.
“The Saints Football Club thanks Kebba, Twinamatsiko and Kongola for their services to the Club and wishes them the best in their future endeavors,” the statement further reads.
According to the chairman, their replacements will be communicated soon but sources close to the club suggest that former KCCA FC tactician George ‘Best’ Nsimbe is the most likely replacement after he was relieved of his duties at Azam FC shortly after the 2015 Kagame Cup which the Tanzanian outfit won.
Kebba leaves The Saints just a place above the bottom spot on the 16 team log with 2 points from 5 games.
