The debut Captain Morgan Spice Takeover was all things spicey and groovy featuring performances from Jamaican dancehall star, Kranium alongside music mixes from Melvyn Dj, Dj Ssese, Kash Pro, Dj Bugy, Alza, Lynda Ddane and more.
Kickstarting his performance at around 10, Kranium got revellers on their toes with performances to some of his popular hits like Gal policy, Nobody has to know, Can’t believe and Last night that marked the end of the experience.
Adding to the excitement were energetic surprise dance performances from DMC dance crew and Ink Dancers with performances to popular and trending music sounds that merged Ampiano, afro-beats and hip-hop genres into well coordinated dance routines.
The new Captain Morgan Spice look was officially unveiled in yet another vibrant mode with a dance performance from H2C dance crew.
Speaking at the Spice Takeover, Judie Nandekya the Captain Morgan Brand Manager said the Spice Takeover is a new consumer platform through which Captain Morgan will re-establish itself within the consumer space by adding spice to different consumer occasions.
“The Spice Takeovers will immerse consumers into the Captain Morgan world through exciting experiences that allow for individuality and creativity to savor the most versatile rum in Uganda”, she added.
Upon entry, everyone was ushered into Captain Morgan experience through a triangular tunnel, handed a free Captain Morgan bandana to spice up their outfits.
Revellers were treated to a variety of rum-punched cocktails, mouthwatering bites at the red-themed food court as well as free gaming options, cute photo booths, and ready-to-wear kitenge outfits to elevate ones look for the night.
Free drinking water was provided at all cocktail points within the venue to endorse responsible consumption of alcohol by partygoers by spacing their drinks with water.
The debut Spice Takeover experience launched the global Captain Morgan Spice On campaign in Uganda, that celebrates consumers who bring their spice to any occasion in unique ways.
