Renowned Jamaican singer Konshens has landed in Uganda for the highly anticipated Blankets & Wine event scheduled for this weekend. The artist arrived at Entebbe International Airport in the early morning hours of Thursday, December 14, 2023.
Upon his arrival, Konshens was greeted with enthusiasm by fans and a group of journalists eager to hear his first words in the “Pearl of Africa.” The dancehall sensation took some time out of his busy schedule to pay a heartfelt tribute to the late Mowzey Radio.
Mowzey Radio, whose real name was Moses Ssekibogo, passed away in 2018 due to severe internal injuries sustained during a bar brawl in Entebbe. The incident left a lasting impact on the Ugandan music scene, and Mowzey Radio’s legacy continues to garner respect from artists worldwide.
In a solemn moment at the gravesite located in Kagga, Wakiso district, Konshens expressed his condolences, saying, “Rest in power, my brother.” He laid a wreath on the final resting place of the fallen vocalist as a symbol of remembrance and admiration.
The visit to Mowzey Radio’s grave reflects the camaraderie and mutual respect shared among artists across borders. Konshens’ gesture not only honors the memory of the late Ugandan singer but also underscores the global impact of Mowzey Radio’s contributions to the music industry.
As Konshens prepares to headline the Blankets & Wine event, his acknowledgment of Mowzey Radio’s legacy serves as a poignant reminder of the enduring connections within the music community, transcending geographical boundaries.
