Jacob Kisubi famously known as Play01 is a rap musician and producer based in Uganda.
He was inspired at 11, by rap models like the Wutang Clan. He started producing his own beats in the early 2000s and created a rap group “EnP” with Lyrikal Proof that broke off when he went for further studies in Germany.
While in Germany, Play 01 was able to perfect his craft for beat making, sampling and rapping.
On his return in 2013, he produced a breakthrough song “Dung” with Apass which led him to other successful collaborations with artists like Santana, Navio, Nutty Neithan, Voltage music, Adrenalyn muzik, Julius Ssese and many more.
As a producer, he has produced songs like “Whine Up” with Nutty Neithan, Vyperranking and DJ Crim. Play 01 just released his newest album “AURA” which was also in Top 10 Ugandan Albums on Apple Music.
