While Lweza Football Club and army side Simba Sports Club continue to fight relegation from the topflight, FUFA Big League sides Kirinya FC(Jinja SS) and Onduparaka FC gained promotion to the Azam Uganda Premier League (AUPL) 2016/2017 season over the weekend.

Away from home, Kirinya edged Wandegaya FC by 3-2 while Onduparaka FC thrashed Sporting United by 3-0 to earn their promotions to the topflight.

Despite leading their group all season, Proline missed out on a quick promotion after drawing their game 1-1 against Kasese New Villa that saw them finish second and will now try to negotiate their way through the plays offs.

In the top tier, prisons’ side Maroons FC and Kampala Central MP Mohammad Nsereko’s SC Victoria University have already been relegated.
