Many questions have been asked by Ugandans about the way South Africa based Ugandan Sangoma, King Lawrence, spends his money. Some have gone to the extremes of calling him bad spender who sleeps in hotels because he doesn’t have a house. He was called a dependent on tycoon Ivan Ssemwanaga at one time and that didn’t go down well with him.
Lawrence came out recently and cleared the air about the issue. He also trashed all Ugandans who judge him for spending his hard earned money. He said that he works all year and comes to Uganda to relax. He also added that because the money is his, he is free to do with it as he pleases. Lawrence said that choosing to spend his nights at Serena Hotel when in Kampala and pay over 300 dollars a night is a choice he made not because he doesn’t have a house, but because his house in Muyenga has mosquitoes in it and he needs a good place. He was consequently rebuked for building in a swamp.
