Kenyan reggae & dancehall artiste Wyre will thrill lovers on Valentine’s Day in Kampala.

The event which has been dubbed Black Valentine will take place on Tuesday, 14th February at Club Play located at 2nd Street Industrial area.

“Wyre has managed to stay relevant throughout his career as a reggae and dancehall artiste,” said Kye Makyeli of Lumpen Media in a statement. “With his wide collection of ballads and dancehall hits, we believe that he is a perfect fit to celebrate February as both the month of love and international reggae month.”

Wyre started out as a member of duo Necessary Noise with fellow Kenyan reggae artist, Nazizi and rose to fame with reggae hits like ‘Kenyan Boy, Kenyan Girl’ and ‘Bless My Room’. The duo later joined forces with Ugandan dancehall star Bebe Cool to form the East African Bashment Crew which gave us lease like ‘This Tune,’ ‘Fire Anthem’ and ‘Kube’.

As a solo artiste, Wyre went on to release more hit singles like ‘Chuki,’ ‘Dancehall Party,’ ‘Sina Makosa,’ as well as various collaborative efforts with international reggae stars like ‘Nakupenda Pia’ with Alaine Laughton, ‘She Say DAT Remix’ with Cecile and ‘Guarantee’ with Gramps and Peetah Morgan of Morgan Heritage.

Tickets to Black Valentine are available at appabout.co.uk at UGX 35,000 for a limited time after which they will go for UGX 50,000.

The event is sponsored by appAbout and Radiocity 97FM.
