Kenyan rapper Raj known for “Ndizi Flow” was on Sunday morning rushed to hospital after a suicide attempt suspected to be an overdose from pills which were found on a bedside table in his bedroom.
The incident happened just hours after he released a video for his song ‘Gaaki’ which is off his “Friday After Class”mix tape. Raj is said to have been celebrating the release of his video on Saturday night with friends after which he left for his house. “We didnt hear from him since Saturday night which is not normal as we always hook up on Sunday plus he left the club unusually early on Saturday” says one of his friends who spoke to Vibeweekly.
A relative who went to his house said the rapper was sprawled on the floor when he arrived. “I put up at his house whenever am in Nairobi and i arrived in the wee hours of Sunday morning, i had keys so i let myself in” says the relative who revealed there was loud music and smell of burnt food when he entered the house. “I found him on the bedroom floor with foam in his mouth lying besides containers with pills and other substances I couldnt identify”.
He says he alerted neighbours who rushed the rapper to hospital and informed the police. A doctor is said to have told a family member that he was out of critical condition and stable adding that if they hadnt found him when they did, he would be dead.
