Months back, a gay cleric, to the surprise of many Christian believers, married of his long time boyfriend of five years in Mtito Andei and then afterwards fled to unknown destination for their honeymoon.
After going under for five months, the couple (Edwin Sikot and Isaiah) has now come out to speak about their affair. Narrating his side of their controversial love story, Edwin, a 37 year old, explained that he is an ordained Pastor with the Holy Ghost Coptic Church of Kenya which he has served since 2001. After ministering in the church for some time, he was later excommunicated from it after the elderly leaders learned of his sexual orientation.
However, despite facing rejection, Sikot narrates that he continued to serve God under other denominations. The most interesting part of their love story is that the two met on Facebook and started flirting, knowing each other and exchanging photos. They later had they first date in Mombasa where they formalized everything about their relationship that led to a secret wedding on March 26th 2015 followed by their disappearance shortly after tying the knot.
