Uganda’s female rapper Keko will host this year’s Namibia Annual Music Awards, it has been announced. The “Mutima” hit maker will co-host the awards ceremony alongside Namibian artistes Gazza and Lady May.
With palpable joy, Keko shared the news on social media. “It’s official Ugandan Rapper Keko to host the Namibia Annual Music Awards 2015 alongside Namibian artists Gazza & Lady May in Windhoek on 2nd May,” an excited Keko posted.
Keko was chosen to host the awards in a bid to link Namibian artists to East Africa and the rest of Africa, according to the organizers.
While Keko will be hosting the awards for the first time, it is also the first time two Namibian artistes have been chosen to host the awards.
The Namibian Annual Music Awards (NAMAS) launched in 2011 are an annual award ceremony that recognizes accomplishment in the Namibian recording industry by celebrating those groups and individuals who have excelled in the past year. This year’s awards will take place on 2nd May in Windhoek.
