Head coach Kefa Kisala has appointed midfielder Oscar Agaba as Uganda Revenue Authority Football Club’s new captain ahead of the 2016/2017 season that kicks off today.
The 27-year-old midfielder has been part of the Tax Collector since 2011 when he joined from SC Villa and his first task in command will come today in their opening match away in Jinja against newly promoted Kirinya Jinja SS, who are under the charges of former URA coach Alex Isabirye.
“Agaba is a good leader with all qualities that a football leader needs. I believe he can guide his fellow players off and on the pitch,” Kefa Kisala said as quoted on the club’s Facebook page.
Agaba replaces captain fantastic Simeon Massaba who was elevated to the team’s coaching staff after retiring while his then assistant Bwete Brian was released in last July. Agaba will be deputised by Kulaba Jimmy and new recruit Mutyaba Julius respectively.
