The Uganda Premier League (UPL) defending champions and representatives at the ongoing Mapinduzi Peace Cup in Zanzibar, KCCA FC, thrashed Mtende F.C 3-0 to effulgence their chances of progressing to the next level of the tourney.
At the Aman stadium in Zanzibar, reigning champions of the tourney came through at the brink of first half with Herman Wasswa’s strike in the 41st minute to hand them a lead.
The second half saw the Kasasiro boys blaze like a bush fire when William Wadri scored twice in a space of 1 minute to extend their lead. Wadri scored in the 65th and 66th minute extending his personal tally to three goals in the tournament having scored his first during the 2-2 draw against Azam F.C in their opening game of Group B.
In other games played, Azam FC managed to defeat KMKM by 1-0 thanks to Shomari Kapombe only goal that helped them carry the day.
The massive victory saw KCC climb to the top of Group B table with 4points from two games above Azam with whom they are tied to the same points but have a better goal difference.
