Just two days after losing to Vipers by 2-0 in the Azam Uganda Premier League, KCCA picked themselves up as they returned to the Phillip Omondi stadium where they pipped Lweza by 1-0 in the first leg of the Uganda Cup semi-finals.
Pedestrian striker Herman Wasswa scored the only goal of the evening as the ‘Kasasiro Boys’ saw off the ‘Kajjansi boys’ to hold the advantage as they await the return leg that is due in a week’s time (Sunday 3rd May).
Benjamin Ochan started in goal to replace first choice goalie Yasin Mugabi who scored an own goal against Vipers on Friday. Sakka Mpiima, Herman Wasswa and William Wadri were the other changes made by head coach Abdallah Mubiru in his starting line-up.
Like rivals SC Villa, KCCA have also won the Uganda Cup eight times so far while Lweza fc are yet to test its victory.
