League defending champions, Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club returned to their winning ways as they pipped The Saints FC 1-0 at Phillip Omondi Stadium, Lugogo on Tuesday evening.
Paul Mucureezi scored the only goal of the game on the half hour mark as the Kasasiro Boys recovered from their 2-1 loss to Onduparaka FC about ten days ago. The win keeps Coach Mike Mutebi’s side at the summit of the league table with 12 points from five matches while The Saints are top of the relegation zone (14th place) with 4 points from a similar number of games.
Elsewhere, Bul FC shocked hosts Express FC with a 1-0 defeat at the Muteesa II Memorial stadium, Wankulukuku. Milton Kalisa was on target inside 28 minutes, a goal that eventually turned out to be the match winner.
The victory was the first for Bul this season as well as for Coach Frank ‘Video’ Anyau since taking over form Alex Isabirye. Bul climbed to 10th place on the table with 5 points while Alex Gitta’s Express are 6th with 8 points.
At the Mehta Stadium in Lugazi, home side Uganda Revenue Authority FC fought had to salvage a point against visitors Lweza FC in a 2-2 draw while Vipers SC on the road to Jinja shared the spoils with JMC Hippos FC in a one-all draw at Bugembe Stadium.
Bright Stars defeated Sadolin Paints at the champion Stadium in Mwererwe, Matugga while Onduparaka held home side Kirinya Jinja SS to a goalless draw at Kakindu.
