Local league champions Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club and Uganda Cup winners Vipers Sports Club will open up the 2016/2017 season with an eagerly awaited clash in he FUFA Super Cup. The tie between the two titans is slated to take place on 14th August, 2016 at Nakivubo War Memorial Stadium.
The two sides shared the spoils on both occasions during their league meetings last season before winning one each in a double fixture in the Uganda Cup semifinals. Vipers won the first league by 2-0 at Nakivubo while the Kasasiro Boys won the reverse fixture by 1-0 in Buikwe as Vipers booked a final with Onduparaka FC.
According to FUFA Competitions Director Ali Mwebe, the two giants will curtain raise the new league season that is scheduled to kick off on August 19.
Vipers are now under the charges of two former KCCA coaches in the names of Abdullah Mubiru who was unveiled yesterday and George Nsimbe plus Edward Golola while the Lugogo based side have Coach Mike Mutebi and Morley Byekwaso in charge.
