Ten time league champions and eight time Uganda Cup winners, Kampala capital City Authority Football Club (KCCA FC) have been denied an opportunity to host their home games at the recently completed Phillip Omondi Stadium.
Following the installation of artificial turf and the setting up of an external perimeter fence, the Kasasiro Boys had requested the local football governing body (FUFA) to allow them start hosting their home games at Phillip Omondi Stadium beginning with this Friday against title rivals Vipers.
However, according to a statement by the club through their official Facebook page, the request has been denied pending final inspections and commissioning by the federation.
Here is the full statement:
“KCCA FC had planned to start hosting Matches at our home ground-Phillip Omondi, starting with the encounter against Vipers SC this Friday 29th April, 2016. Accordingly, we requested FUFA to inspect and authorize us following the installation of the external perimeter fence.
However, FUFA C.E.O Mr. Edgar Watson Suubi has advised that the Federation has to conduct the final inspection and commission the stadium before we can officially start hosting matches from there.
We will therefore not be able to host our matches until this process is done. We apologize for any inconveniences this might cause to all concerned parties, most especially our fans.”
