KCCA FC vs Kamuli Park

By Robert Kayindi James

It was a weekend filled with pre-season friendlies that saw the league champions Kampala Capital City Authority FC and Uganda Revenue Authority FC in action ahead of the new campaign.

The Mike Mutebi-coached side saw off Kamuli Park Football Club in a 2-0 victory thanks to goals from new signing Geoffrey Sserunkuma and Musana. Sserunkuma headed home from Ochaya’s corner in the 16th minute of the game to give the Kasasiro Boys the lead. Twelve minutes later, Musana doubled the score for the visitors with a cool header.

KCCA FC is preparing to face off with Uganda Cup winners Vipers Sports Club in the FUFA Super Cup that is slated for 14th August.

Meanwhile, Kamuli Park FC recently bought off Big League side Artland Katale in a deal reportedly worth 7 million shillings.

Elsewhere, relegated side Maroons FC stunned the Tax Collectors with a 1-0 defeat at the Luzira Prisons grounds. Peter Otia scored the only goal of the game in the first half that even eventually turned out to be the match winner as the Prisons’ side prepare for their season in the second tier (the FUFA Big League) that starts in early August.
