Head coach Abdallah Mubiru has blamed fatigue for their side’s recent poor performance in their last three games at home.
Kampala Capital City Authority suffered a 2-0 defeat against table leaders Vipers before winning by 1-0 against Lweza fc in the first leg of the Uganda Cup semi-finals despite a very unconvincing display on Sunday evening with Herman Wasswa saving the day.
“First of all, I congratulate my boys for the victory (against Lweza on Sunday) but it wasn’t the result we wanted. We were nervous, gave away possession easily and it’s not the margin of victory we wanted,” Abdallah Mubiru told the club’s official website.
“That was the sixth game in 13 days and thus you can’t rule out fatigue. But we remain focused ahead of the next fixtures as the season is still on. We have a return leg in seven days and all we need is to remain focused,” he added before his side went into action on Tuesday evening only to lose to Express fc by 3-0.
The league defending champions have played seven games in a fortnight with five outings in the league and two in the Uganda Cup where they hold a 1-0 advantage before heading into the semi-final second leg on Sunday, 3rd May against Lweza.
Despite the tight schedule, KCCA are still third on the log with 50 points from 26 games.
