Entrepreneur Joseph Owino has become the first Ugandan, outside musicians and politicians, to be verified on both Twitter and Facebook. The founder of Kawowo Sports this morning saw his page receive the blue badge from Facebook.
Verification by Twitter and Facebook is when a blue badge is added next to a high profile individual’s name. Among Ugandans verified on both Facebook and Twitter include musicians Jose Chameleone, Bebe Cool, Radio & Weasel and Maurice Kirya.
Owino was famously wrongfully arrested when a state house official claimed he had hacked President Museveni’s twitter account. He was released a day later by the special investigations unit in Kireka.
Owino is the founder and CEO of IT firm, Owino Solutions and also the founder of Local sports website, www.kawowo.com.
