Embattled Radio and TV personality, Denis Katongole has finally spoken out after he was fired from his job at Bukedde TV and arrested for allegedly defiling a 14-year-old senior one girl.
After being granted bail by Bweyogerere police following his wife Tendo’s efforts to get him out of jail, Katongole took the opportunity to thank Ugandans and all his fans for the support through this trying time of his life.
He went to his Facebook page and made it clear that he was thankful not only for keeping him in their prayers but for giving him a shoulder to lean on. “I want to thank all my fans and friends. You have given me a shoulder to lean on in these trying times. I pray God judges whoever put me in this trouble,” Katongole said.
Katongole, who denies all defilement accusations, said that he was tricked by the girl’s brother who called the police on him as he attempted to negotiate matters with him. The girl who is a student of Namilyango S.S had gone to visit her brother only to meet Katongole who is a neighbor. The story goes on to say that Katongole purportedly took her to a lodge in Kalerwe where he allegedly defiled her before giving her a paltry 20,000shs as transport.
At this moment, her brother tasked her to tell him where she had gone. The little girl told him everything that Katongole had allegedly done to her. He was then tricked to come to Bweyogerere where upon arrival, the ex-Full dose presenter was arrested and accused of defilement.
Police granted him bond as investigations are still ongoing. The girl has also been checked by medical personnel to determine the extent of the alleged damage to her privates.
