Former Bukedde TV employee, Katongole Omutongole, who was fired from the Vision group owned station for contravening the ethics code of the company, has come out to clear the air following reports that he is a cassanova.
The Beat FM presenter made it clear in a recent interview that he has never been a cassanova. He also stated that he is a married man who loves his wife and has no time for anyone else.
“It’s only the papers saying that. If I were a cassanova, I wouldn’t have a wife. There is no woman who can hear that so many chics are digging you and she stays. By the way, I have a very principled wife and she wouldn’t stay if I had other girls. We love each other so much,” Katongole said.
Katongole then went on to talk about the story that he had allegedly defiled a girl. He pinned Ugandan newspapers for putting sales ahead of the truth. “The only true thing in those stories is that I gave the girl a ride. She is our neighbour and when I gave her a ride I dropped her at the Northern Bypass. She must have gone somewhere other than home as her brother got worried when she delayed to get home. He asked her where she had been and she said it was with me. I had given her my number because she said she might want to send greetings through me on radio,” he said.
“But because people want their newspapers to sale, they came up with a bad story and this put me in trouble but fortunately everything ended well,” he concluded.
Katongole was in early January netted by Police in Bweyogerere as he allegedly tried to bribe the peeved girl’s brother in order for him to drop the defilement charges. He later proved that he didn’t defile the 14-year-old girl.
