Local comedian Kato Lubwama who was recently discharged from Mulago Hospital after being treated for heart complications has turned a deaf ear to the doctor’s orders.
Kato Lubwama was diagnosed with triple vessel disease, which can only be cured with an operational procedure which apparently can only be carried out in India and would require the comedian to part with over Ugx40 million. The doctors had ordered the comedian to have ample rest in the meantime as he mobilizes the funds for the operation.
However, after spending a few days at home, the comedian felt bored and decided to go back to his longtime passion – acting. Kato Lubwama over the weekend starred in a play staged at Bat Valley theartre.
While on stage, the comedian even joked about his situation saying that just staying home seated would only make him age faster for worrying too much.
“They say diabetes worsens if someone doesn’t make their body busy, so what would become of me if I just sat down like the doctors ordered; or where will I get the Shs50m to go for the operation, if I don’t work for it?” he quizzed.
Kato acted in his new production Amankatabu that is showing at Bat Valley Theatre.
