Karole Kasita Reveals How Zari Hassan Inspired Her to Rethink Son’s Birthday Celebrations

Ugandan singer Karole Kasita has opened up about how socialite and businesswoman Zari Hassan inspired her to change the way she celebrates her son’s birthdays, opting for long-term investments over extravagant parties.

While celebrating her son King’s birthday three days ago, Kasita surprised many when she revealed that instead of throwing a big party, she chose to buy him land.

The decision, she says, was influenced by Zari Hassan, who last year gifted her own son land as a birthday present.

In a recent interview, Kasita reflected on how much she spent on King’s previous birthday, where_split into a lavish Disney-themed celebration at home.

“I spent a lot of money last year on King’s birthday. I created a Disney at home. Of course he had fun, and since that day he has never forgotten the word ‘birthday,’” Kasita shared.

However, she admitted that after the excitement faded, she began questioning her choices.

“I started thinking that I should have used that money to buy him something else he can see for a long time. So when I saw that Zari had bought her son land, I also said it’s important to get him something that can benefit him in the future,” she explained.

Kasita clarified that the absence of a big birthday party this year was also due to her son not feeling well at the time. She noted that once he fully recovers, she plans to hold a simple celebration involving about 10 children and a small cake-cutting moment.

Nonetheless, she emphasized that buying land for King remains the most meaningful and valuable gift she could give him.

According to Kasita, the move represents a shift in mindset—choosing lasting investments for her child’s future over short-lived celebrations, a lesson she says she gladly picked from Zari Hassan.
