Latest reports from Sudan suggest that Sports Club Villa striker Karim Ndugwa will not feature in his side’s encounter with El Watani of Khartoum in the CAF Confederations Cup today during the first leg in Sudan.
The development follows a concern raised by the Continental football governing body, CAF that they never received the player’s International Transfer Certificate (ITC) that saw him cross from Kenyan side AFC Leopards back to SC Villa at the start of this season.
In other news, Villa head coach Ibrahim Kirya will not allowed to sit on the technical bench as he does not qualify to coach any club at such a continental level. Kirya is a CAF C class license holder while the continental body demands the least of a class B license.
In that respect, Frank Video Anyau, a CAF A class license holder will lead the Jogoos’ the technical bench as they face off El Watani in the preliminary round of the continental tournament.
The Uganda Cup defending champions play their first leg this weekend in Khartoum, Sudan with the reserve fixture slated for 26th February at Nakivubo War Memorial Stadium in Kampala.
