After spending years pining after dream girl, Kanye West isn’t going to let anyone get in between him and Kim Kardashian – not even his bodyguard.
Kanye is believed to have sacked NYPD officer and Chippendales dancer-turned security guard Steve Stanulis, who once went by the stripper name Savage Steve, in the run-up to Monday night’s Met Gala in New York City.
The 39-year-old rapper reportedly flew into a fit of rage and dramatically fired the bodyguard after he was seen chatting to the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star outside her hotel room at the Waldorf Astoria.
It’s believed Kanye locked horns with Stanulis – who has previously protected the likes of Leonardo DiCaprio and Alanis Morissette – after he came out of his room on the 36th floor of the establishment and saw the muscleman handing Kim a package that had arrived at reception for the couple.
The Life of Pablo hitmaker asked Stanulis why he was speaking with Kim and screeched, ‘This isn’t right!’, an onlooker told the New York Daily News column, Confidenti@l.
Stanulis told the publication: ‘I’m a happily married man with three children and I have no comment.’
This isn’t the first time Kanye – who married Kim in 2014 and with whom he has daughter North, two, and son Saint, four months – has had a run in with Stanulis.
The pair reportedly came to blows just a few months ago when the rapper caught the bodyguard charming the 35-year-old beauty during New York Fashion Week in February.
A source close to Kanye told Confidenti@l that no one had been fired.
‘Untrue,’ the source said. ‘No changes have been made to the security team.’
