Gen. Kale Kayihura Edward is on a move to wipe out all terror threats in the country especially in places of mass gathering like night hang outs.
An operation was carried out on Saturday where over 70 foreigners in the country without any job description were arrested. This was backed up by a secret operation which uncovered some Al-shabab members who were executing the plans to bomb the country. The operation uncovered explosives that were to be used and as we speak these suspects are behind bars.
According to IGP Gen. Kale Kayihura, the last bomb attack in the country took over 70 dear souls and so many survived with injuries in Ethiopian Village Kabalagala and Kyadondo Rugby grounds where the incidents happened, he has promised this not to happen again at his watch.
Gen Kayihura warned: “We urge all proprietors/ managers of all public places to closely work with the police and sister security agencies to activate counter terrorism measures especially strengthening access control at such places. We know this will inconvenience members of the public but we count on your understanding that it is for your own safety and security.”
He further said: “We urge all organizers of all public events especially in open air spaces, and stadia, to closely work with police and sister security agencies in planning and organizing such events until they are over. This is to ensure that the public is not put in unnecessary danger.”
