The latest pet festival in the city, the Kampala dog show that was held on Saturday left a huge disappointment to the organizers as only a handful of dog owners showed up with their pets despite a perfect weather condition.
Gates opened at 10am but by 2pm only a few pet owners kept trickling in.
FEUDING PARTIES
Uganda’s premiere pet owners association, the Uganda Pet Care and Protection Society lived to their threat and rallied members to shun the event citing malice and sabotage of their ”Kampala Shaggy dog show” which they have been holding to promote awareness about the pet care.
The impact of their boycott was felt to a smaller extent by the corporate sponsored version of the dog show which threatened to eclipse their relevance.
Some claim revelers claimed the publicity of the show portrayed as an NTV event rather than a public one. The other animal festival is the Royal Ascot goat races slated for the first week of September.
