Uganda Breweries Limited has announced media veteran Kalungi Kabuye and award-winning journalist Paul Busharizi as judges for the UBL@75 media competition. The two will work alongside Uganda Breweries Corporate Relations Director Juliana Kagwa to pick out winners of the media competition.

As part their 75th anniversary celebrations, Uganda Breweries Limited introduced a media competition aimed at rewarding journalists with iconic memories or experiences of UBL or any of its brands, with cash prizes totaling up to UGX 7.5M.

To participate, journalists have to submit iconic footage from past UBL events held in the 70s, 80s, 90s or early 2000s, or share a story with pictures of their most memorable experience of UBL or any of the UBL Brands to stand a chance of winning Kagwa said the judges were selected based on their expertise and vast experience in the media industry.

“We are thrilled to have these award-winning journalists on our panel for this competition. Each has a vast experience and unique perspective of the media industry and have over the years engaged with UBL and told stories of our brands. Collectively, they are ideally qualified to recognize the entries with the most iconic and significant memories of Uganda Breweries Limited and I look forward to working with them.” Kagwa said.

Kalungi Kabuye, is an award-winning writer and photographer with over 20 years’ experience in journalism and Paul Busharizi, is a senior business journalist, with extensive experience as a communications consultant and trainer.

The UBL@75 media competition is open to all journalists across different media. The best video clip entry and best article/picture will each win UGX 2 Million whereas the first and second runners up will each take UGX 1M each. There is also a prize of UGX1.5M for the most unique submission.
