Uganda Cranes goal keeping Coach Fred Kajoba was a happy man after cranes Robert Odongkara kept a clean sheet during their away game against Mauritania. Cranes beat Mauritania 1-0 away from home on Sunday which saw them progress to the group stage of the 2015 AFCON Qualifiers.
Odongkara was chosen over Benjamin Ochan in goal due to Onyango’s absence and the St.George goalkeeper made no mistake to disappoint Micho and his entire team as he put up a gallant performance.
“I am proud of Odongkara after today’s performance,” Kajoba told Star Fm after the game on Sunday. “I had confidence in him and was impressed with him keeping a clean sheet.”
Odongkara was incredible for the Cranes in Nouakchott at the Olympic stadium as he organized the defence perfectly and also neutralized whatever was thrown at him.
It was Uganda’s consecutive clean sheet in the campaign after conceding 2 goals in the first game away to Madagascar that ended 2-1. The Cranes kept their first clean sheet of the campaign at home, Namboole against Mauritania who failed to put any ball in the cranes net.
