Bright Stars

By James Robert Kayindi

Uganda Cranes goalkeeping coach Fred Kajoba celebrated his first victory yesterday as his new side Bright Stars edged struggling Entebbe with a 2-1 win at the Phillip Omondi stadium, Lugogo.

Kajoba joined the Kawempe based side after falling out with his former employers of Simba and taking over from interim coach Paul Kiwanuka. He lost his first match against Kiira Young (1-0) before drawing 1-1 with Lweza.

However the story changed yesterday as Bright Stars came from behind to beat Entebbe F.C, thanks to Akram Kakembo’s well taken penalty before Jimmy Lule’s exquisitely taken free kick. Nasser Muzamiru had earlier scored a penalty to give Entebbe the lead. Bright Stars are now 8th on the table with 16 points while Entebbe remained 15th on the log with 6 points.

In Jinja at the Bugembe stadium, 10-man Sadolin Paints condemned Lweza to a 1-0 defeat. Umaru Ngobi scored to sink Lweza before receiving matching orders from the referee for a non-sporting action.

Sadolin moved to 10th on the table with 13 points while Lweza dropped to 12th with 10 points, all from 11 games.
