It was a colourful day at Hotel Africana as hundreds of teens turned up for the annual Kandake event on Saturday.
The day progressed nicely until the heavily awaited MCs of the day showed up only to anger the participants. DJ Nimrod abandoned his usual deejaying business and turned into an MC and disorganized the whole event.
Initially, the competing groups were meant to perform on their mixes but only for Nimrod to change the system and make them dance to songs of his own choice.
Many participants and fans were seen angry about this as most of the dance groups could be seen struggling through the songs. Some of the dancers were therefore booed off stage and others embarrassed by DJ Nimrod.
At one point, Nimrod who seemed not to like a certain dancer called Zanda Dancer forced him off the stage through the audience even before he could start dancing.
“He embarrassed me, I looked a fool before the mammoth crowd and I had to eventually find my level but that’s not what judges do,” stressed Zanda Dancer.
