Singer turned actress Mariam Ndagire is the new deputy Gombolola chief of Nabweru Mutuba 2. The actress is thanking the gods for bestowing such uncommon favour upon her.
Mariam shot to prominence in early millennium from 2002 to 2004 as she pelted out heart wrecking songs. Her then troubled marital life inspired songs like “Kiki onumya” which became a theme love song. She later split with her husband, the husky voiced John Segawa.
Despite all the controversy, she maintained a low key public presence. She gracefully kept out of the prying and unforgiving public eye. She then embarked on movie industry and was part of the historical Uganda- Nollywood movie “Roses in the rain” which gave birth to the “Ugawood” coinages in reference to Ugandan movie industry. She has since produced “Tendo sisters” and other soaps about family life.
We salute you chief.
