Ugandan international Joseph Kabagambe retains hope of being part of Cranes coach Micho Sredojevic’s plans ahead of next month’s World Cup qualifying decider against Senegal.

The El Merreikh Al Fashir (Sudan) winger was part of Micho’s 31-man squad summoned for Uganda’s build-up friendly against Egypt over a week ago but was ruled out by club duties.

But the winger, who last featured for Cranes in the 2-0 loss away to Angola in 2011, left options open by suggesting he would be available in case Micho called on him for the Senegal affair.

And he is still hopeful. “Hopefully,” he told SuperSport.com. On whether he had been in touch with since, Kabagambe said: “Yes he knows my developments.”

Uganda need to beat Senegal when the two clash in the Moroccan city if they are to progress to the final round of the 2014 World Cup qualifiers. The first leg in Kampala ended 1-1.
