Justin Bieber has fuelled speculation over his future after a radio interview on Wednesday (December 17).
The 19-year-old told Power 106 in Los Angeles: “I’m actually retiring,” but was later confirmed by his reps to be joking.
“The #SamsungTwitterParty is back! Get ready to party the night away come 19th December at Zone 7 with fellow tweeps. Entrance is 15,000shs. Call 0775439894 for details. Great music and drinks.”
However, in the same interview Bieber said he intends to take “a step out” as he “want[s] to grow as an artist”, adding: “I want my music to mature.”
The singer, who has made the headlines for a series of controversial incidents over the past year, also insisted that he is not the person the public thinks he is.
“People think I’m arrogant, I’m not, I’ve always been a caring and giving person,” he told the radio station.
“I’m here solely for my fans and for the music.”
Bieber recently previewed three new songs online. The star will release his new album Journals digitally on December 23, which will feature all of his recent #MusicMondays singles.
