Renowned songstress Juliana Kanyomozi recently opened up about her profound experience of grief following the tragic passing of her son, Raphael Keron Kabugo.

Keron, born to one of Kanyomozi’s first fiancées, Amon Lukwago, succumbed to a severe asthma attack in 2014 at the tender age of 11, while under his mother’s care at the Aga Khan Hospital in Nairobi.
Reflecting on her journey through grief, Kanyomozi recalled the poignant moment when she began to accept her son’s absence.
“It took me a long time. I recall just removing his clothes from the wardrobe and start believing that he is gone,” she shared.
She further described a coping mechanism she found in grieving, stating, “That mode of grieving sometimes gave me comfort as I felt I was in his presence, just comfort.”

The passing of Keron occurred two weeks after an asthma attack, which subsequently led to severe pneumonia and a critical infection in his lungs.
