Songstress Juliana Kanyomozi pronounced herself on celebrities who overdrink and fail to attend church on Sunday’s to thank God for the blessings accorded to them through their singing talents.
While speaking at the recently held Celebrity Sunday service at Light the world church in Nansana, Juliana said that artistes need to realize that it is God who gave them the talents that they have and they ought to praise him instead of making alcohol their small gods.
She revealed that she got to know about this year’s celebrity Sunday through Pastor Wilson Bugembe whom she found at her local gym. He asked her to attend and sing for the congregation, she couldn’t resist the man of God’d request.
“I was at the gym when Bugembe approached me and asked me to attend the service, who was I to say no to the man of God,” she remarked. “But one thing that we celebrities need to do is to be cognizant of the fact that God has given us a talent and we must use it properly as we praise him.”
“When I was young, I aspired to be a singer just to go on stage and have people clap for me after the performance. We always dream small but God gives us bigger things. Today I command millions of fans. We need to thank God for all he has given us and leave alcohol and drinking aside,” she said. “Many of us are too drunk on Sunday mornings to come to Church and praise him for the blessings,” she added.
Pastor Bugembe’s celebrity Sunday which features all local celebs in one service every year, was palpably very successful. Hundreds of celebrities sat in his church in Nansana as they shared their life experiences and how God has been of help to them. Although some factions have criticized Bugembe for bringing scandalous people to the house of God, the man of God remains strong that God’s ministry will move among celebrities.
