Songbird Juliana Kanyomozi has finally addressed concerns surrounding her new video dubbed “I’m Still Here”.
The singer has been castigated for “copying and pasting” J-Lo’s “Aint Yo Mama” video. This after strikingly similar scenes from “Aint Yo Mama” video appeared in Juliana’s “I’m Still Here” video.
Speaking in a recent interview, she noted that she had never really watched J-Lo’s video.
“I had not really watched J-Lo’s video,” she said. “But when we were filming, I knew that I was not the first to do such a video because I had seen something similar before. So, I was not really surprised when people started sharing screen shots of J-Lo’s video on social media.”
“When it comes to art, there is nothing you will ever do and happen to be the first to do it. It’s not stealing; its just inspiration,”she added.
The video script was written by producer Justin Campos’ wife who was inspired by Wes Anderson. According to Juliana, she was trying to portray different characters of women and the different things they go through in life but at the same time share similar experiences.
