TV personality and producer, Judithiana has revealed how the TV scene in Uganda has changed over the years. This was during a sit down with Home of Our Stars show host, Flavia Tumusiime while commenting on how the entertainment industry has progressed over the years.
“If you did TV in Uganda back then, it was important to sound like you went to school, were elite and had a good education,” Judithiana said, further noting that, “I faced rejection at the idea of voicing the Date My Family show because of how Ugandans view the TV scene. However, when it came to M-Net, I was given a green light to start voicing the show because they wanted the show to be relatable, and with a touch of Ugandan-ness even in the voice.”
She also commented on the state of local Reality TV shows where she noted that there is rich talent and content that can be mined from the lives we lead every day; the love, laughter, excitement, the crying, betrayal, and pain.
“As Ugandans we were not taking advantage of the leaps and bounds that we could grow in on reality TV and we can only give a blind eye for so long. We love all drama and it just took us showing Ugandans the reality of who we are for the rest to acknowledge and watch the shows,” she noted.
Judithiana presents Jechili, a music show on Pearl Magic, and is the producer for local reality TV shows, Take Me Back and Date My family.
