The tragic passing of Martha Ahumuza Murari has shaken many, including Ugandan socialite and philanthropist Judith Heard, who used the heartbreaking incident to reflect on her own life and to offer advice to her followers.

In a heartfelt message shared on X (formerly Twitter), Judith expressed deep gratitude to God for saving her from what she described as a “worldly life” that could have led her down a dangerous path.
She attributed her growth and protection to God’s grace and guidance, emphasizing how fragile life can be and the importance of staying mindful in a sometimes cruel world.
“I can’t stop thanking God for saving me from the worldly life and helping me quit everything that was leading me down the wrong path,” she wrote. “Every day, I see more reasons why His grace and guidance have been my greatest protection. Life is fragile, and the world can be cruel—this is why I choose to walk in God’s light and encourage others to be mindful of the environments they put themselves in.”
Judith Heard went on to reflect on the circumstances surrounding Martha Ahumuza’s untimely death, which, according to reports, may have been linked to a brain aneurysm after her drink was allegedly spiked at Mezo Noir.
“This is a painful reminder of how quickly things can change,” she said, mourning the young woman who, she noted, was full of promise but taken far too soon.
Judith used the tragedy as a wake-up call to caution women about personal safety, particularly in social settings where drinks are involved.
“If you’re out in public, especially in places where drinks are involved, be cautious. Never leave your drink unattended, and if a friend is in distress, don’t ignore it. If you notice something suspicious, speak up. The world is full of dangers, and unfortunately, not everyone around us has good intentions.”
Heard also urged women to support and protect one another. She emphasized that women should not only mourn Martha’s death but also learn from it and adopt measures to stay safe.
“Ladies, let’s not just mourn her—let’s learn from this and do our best to protect one another. May her soul rest in peace,” she concluded.
Martha Ahumuza will be laid to rest on Sunday in Mbarara.
