Ugandan singer Jowy Landa is grieving the death of her brother, who has passed away after spending close to a year in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) following a violent attack in 2024.
Her brother’s health had been critical since the assault, leaving him unconscious and bedridden for months.
In September last year, Jowy shared a heartbreaking photo of him lying in a hospital bed, expressing hope that he would recover.
However, despite medical efforts and public appeals for help, he tragically lost the battle for his life.
In December 2024, Jowy made a heartfelt public plea to General Salim Saleh, revealing the family’s desperate situation.
At the time, her brother had already spent five months in ICU, and the hospital bills had ballooned beyond what they could manage.
She disclosed that they were paying up to UGX 1 million per day to keep him in critical care, and the financial pressure was unbearable.
Jowy also called on the public for assistance, hoping to raise enough funds to continue her brother’s treatment.
Her efforts drew sympathy and support from fans, fellow artists, and the wider community.
Sadly, despite the unwavering support and medical care, her brother has passed on.
Jowy announced the news with a heavy heart, thanking those who stood by her during the difficult journey.
