Former New Vision photo journalist identified as Nutty Dre Raster survived a thumping by fellow journalists shortly after the inspector of police General Kale Kayihura addressed the press at the police headquarters in Naguru.
This came after the said journalist entered the conference hall while Kayihura addressed the press and picked a Zoom H4N recorder from the front where it had been stationed leaving the owner in confusion.
It later emerged that Raster was allegedly accusing the bearer of the recorder, a reporter from a certain radio, of stealing his recorder. This escalated into involvement of Andrew Felix Kaweesa whom Nutty kept on following from one office to the other.
This forced the rest of the journalists that have always worked with the bearer of the recorder to swing into action to defend their own hence causing commotion at the headquarters. The two conflicting parties were whisked into the office of the PRO of police, Enanga, to ensure matters are handled amicably and calming the angry journalists that had refused to leave the premises.
After a couple of minutes, the two came out seemingly contented with what was reached on. According to Enanga, the two will produce evidence, however, the rest of the journalists also came out with a resolution that if Raster fails to produce concrete evidence that the recorder is his, he will be banned from attending any such press conferences.
