Joshua Baraka Speaks Out on Payment Challenges in the Music Industry

Renowned Ugandan musician Joshua Baraka has expressed concerns about how some people undervalue his work by refusing to pay according to his rate card.

“Most people don’t want to pay me based on my rate card. They pretend to be so familiar with me that I don’t deserve that much,” Joshua Baraka said.

He emphasized the financial investment he puts into his music career and the need for fair compensation.

Joshua Baraka celebrated at the Trace Awards Tour in Kampala

“I put in a lot of money into my craft, and I expect returns worth my rate card,” he added.

Joshua Baraka has been one of Uganda’s biggest music exports for at least the past three years, gaining international recognition for his unique sound and talent.
