Last week was a very sad one as the Mayanja family and the Ugandan music fraternity said goodbye to one of their own.
Emmanuel Mayanja aka AK 47 (1990 to 2015) who died as he was being rushed to Nsambya hospital after falling in the bathroom at De Javu bar in Kansanga, left many Ugandans in tears. To celebrate his life, mourners lead by Bobi Wine organized a quick fund to help his family complete the house that he was building for his kids. The deceased’s brother, Jose Chameleone, has also decided to recognize his brother’s contribution to the industry for the 25 years that he lived by preparing for a record in his memory.
The Badilisha singer is set to record a tribute song for his deceased brother. He said that he has used his talent to sing for other people, why not use it to sing for his own brother. “If I can sing for my fans and other people, then why can’t I sing for my own brother,” the singer said.
Sources say that the singer has gotten in touch with two great audio producers, Kayz and Paddy Man of Audio One Records, to make this happen. We also have it on good authority that he could make a remix of his Basiima Ogenze that his late brother wrote for him.
Rest in peace Emmanuel Mayanja.
We will keep you posted on any new updates.
