Legendary Ugandan artist Jose Chameleone has announced that he will not be holding his concert on the same day as fellow musician Fik Fameica, following a date clash that sparked concern among fans and industry stakeholders.

In a heartfelt video shared across his social media platforms, the Leone Island boss addressed the issue directly, confirming that he has decided to step aside to allow the younger artist to shine.
“Fik Fameica is the next generation; a very talented artist and a big star,” Chameleone said. “If I put the show on the same date, it shows how greedy I am. Ugandans have supported me for all these years, and I really appreciate it; I do not take it for granted.”
The initial schedule had both artists preparing concerts on the same date — September 5th — with Fik Fameica booked for Lugogo Cricket Oval. Chameleone emphasized that Fameica had selected the date fairly and without conflict, but upon realizing the overlap, he chose to change course.
“Fik Fameica chose his date without fighting anyone, and unfortunately, I clashed with him. Personally, I made a very big decision, and I’m here to tell all my friends that we will have my show on another date,” he confirmed.
Chameleone also used the moment to reaffirm his dedication to the growth of Uganda’s music industry, stressing the importance of supporting the upcoming generation of artists.
His gesture has been widely praised by fans and industry peers as a mark of maturity, respect, and unity.
A new date for Chameleone’s concert is expected to be announced soon.
