Ugandan music legend Jose Chameleone has returned home to a rousing and emotional welcome after spending four months in the United States undergoing specialized medical treatment.

Chameleone, who had been battling acute pancreatitis, was flown to the U.S. thanks to the support of philanthropist Juliet Zawedde and the Ugandan government.
He departed the United States yesterday and touched down in Uganda this morning, where he was met with overwhelming love and support.
A large crowd of fans, family members, and friends gathered at the airport to receive him, celebrating his recovery and return.
The atmosphere turned electric as his motorcade made its way from the airport to the city center, with people lining the streets to catch a glimpse of the iconic musician.
Upon arrival in the city, Chameleone took a moment to address the crowd, expressing heartfelt gratitude to everyone who stood by him during his illness.
“I’m truly humbled by this welcome and deeply thankful for the prayers, support, and love you all showed me,” he said.
