Word reaching us is that Leone Island boss, Jose Chameleone and his manager Robert Mutima are in hot soup. The two could be arrested any time soon and thrown in jail, BigEyeUg has learned.
The famous singer has been given 15 days to file a defence in the commercial court in a case where he is accused of breach of contract. Damages amounting to Ushs 100 million are being demanded by the plaintiff, according to our source who has looked at the summons.
Apparently Chameleone caused a huge loss to the plaintiff, a one Ronex, when he was hired to perform in Kenya and never turned up. The singer was allegedly paid Ushs16 million of Ushs28 million through his manager. He later demanded for an extra Ushs14 million which was duly accorded to him. The singer also asked for travel and other expenses and all was done.
One the day of the show, our source tells us, the singer didn’t turn up on time. He came in late, most of the people had left and there was no serious show, and Ronnex lost a lot of money.
Ronex says that Chameleoene breached the contract and he should be made to pay for this. This comes at a time when the singer is fighting a similar case with Buddu FM. He failed to turn up for a show in Masaka after being paid. The singer who ignored several intention to sue letters will now face the courts of law.
We shall keep you posted.
