Jose Chameleone has lost his ‘best song in East Africa’ crown to Kenyan boy band Sauti Sol.

Chameleone who had won the Best East African song accolade in the Kilimanjaro Tanzania Music Awards in 2014 with his smash hit ‘Tubonge’ failed to defend his crown.

Chameleone’s single ‘Wale Wale’ had been nominated alongside ‘Kioo’ (Jaguar), ‘Sura Yako’ (Sauti Sol), ‘Show’ (Victoria Kimani) and ‘Prokoto’ (Victoria Kimani ft Diamond Platinumz) for the Best song in East Africa for 2015.

Sauti Sol whose single ‘Sura Yako’ is sweeping accolades in the East African region could not hide their excitement posting on Social media: “Thank you Kilimanjaro Tanzania Music Awards ‪#‎KTMA2015 Shukran kwa hili tuzo la ‪#‎WimboBoraAfrikaMashariki ‪#‎SuraYako Mungu awabariki S/O to all the nominees in this category, they also had big songs @jaguarkenya @victoriakimani @jchameleone”
