After missing the Club Mega Fest last weekend because of his several shows in Southern Sudan, Leone Island boss, Dr Jose Chameleone, has been invited to another big gig. Chameleone will be gracing a Nairobi Charity event called the Athi festival next weekend. On October 4, he will headline a charity concert in Machakos.
Dubbed The Wattle Blossom Lodge, the event is meant to help collect some funds for those who are less fortunate to enable them enjoy a decent life. Organizers have already contacted big names in the music industry to grace the show alongside Chameleone. Sauti Sol, Bahati, Proff, Kisella, Qritiqal, Dj Crème De la Crème, Dj Joe Mfalme, Dj Kalonje, Dj Fash, Dj Crossfade, Dj Reakt and Mc Mzazi William Tuva of Mseto East Africa are some of the artistes to perform.
“The festival is a fundraising for the Mama Upendo Children’s Home in Kitui. Proceeds from the event will go towards buying land to construct a new home to cater for more orphans, widows, the elderly, youth and also have a recreation facility within the home,” Sarah Hillman, the event organiser said.
The festival will be held at Wattle Blossom Lodge in Athi River.
